South Korean Football superstar Song Heung-Min is ready to transfer to America after decades spending time in Europe. His initial days of football marks from his country Chuncheon, South Korea. Then in 2008 he moved to germeny to join Hamburger SV’s youth academy where he started his football journey in Europe. He debuted in major league Bundesliga highest league in germany in October 30, 2010. Then in 2015 he joined Tottenham Hotspur where he became most Expensive Asian Player in football history at the time. His contribution to this time is remarkable, club reached Champions League final in 2018-19, EFL cup final in 2020-21, became the first Asian player to win Premier League Golden Boot award. He not only became popular in the Asian nation but the with the contribution to his club in Spurs he managed to make a fame for himself in the Europe as well. Continued to this Spurs ended there 17-year trophy drought in 2025 by winning UEFA Europa League and this happened in the leadership of Song who was the Captain of the team during that time.
The news about him moving to MLS would surely break the heart of Spurs fan, they would definitely want to see their champion captain to lead the team again for 2026 as they had amazing year in 2025. Song having spent lots of time in the club would also be emotional about leaving the club.
Son announced last weekend, his decision of leaving Premier League ending his 10 year of journey with the London club. Taking his journey to MLS(Major League Soccer) which his the professional soccer league in North America and highest leavel of the United States soccer league system. MLS has gained lot of major footballers especially after Messi transfered to MLS 2 years ago this soccer league has been in the focus of many football fans.
Now with the news joining of Son in MLS where he would be joining LAFC(Los Angeles Football Club) for his debut in American Soccer League this would add fuel to the fame of MLS in Asian as well as in the Europe where son is admired soo much.
Sources around the internet verified that Son is paying almost $26 million to join LAFC. That amount would surpass the $22 million Atlanta United FC paid for attacker Emmanuel Latte Lath last winter.
In a friendly encounter against Newcastle United on Sunday in Seoul, Son played his final game for Spurs, which finished in a 1-1 draw. When Son was replaced in the second half, he received a guard of honor and a standing ovation from both teams.
He told Spur’s website: “It was a perfect moment. Sharing these beautiful moments are something that I will never forget and I will always appreciate it — from the fans, the players and the gaffer. He understood my situation and was always on my side. He always listened to me and asked what I wanted to do. I have a huge respect and am very grateful.”
Surely not everyone would be happy with this decision especially fans from Spurs but they would definitely say farewell to their leader and to their captian with hearts filled with joy and lots of blessings.
